Blurring the Lines
Between Inside and Out
The best outdoor additions shouldn’t feel like afterthoughts; they should feel like a natural evolution of the home’s architecture. For the Alex Glennon project, the goal was to create a transitional space that offered the comforts of a luxury living room while remaining completely open to the fresh Carolina air. By employing a high-contrast design palette marrying crisp white masonry with rich, dark timber we crafted a covered oasis that invites year-round entertaining, rain or shine.
Curated
Comfort
To create a true living room feel, we anchored the space with a custom white-painted brick fireplace and integrated entertainment center. The raised hearth provides additional seating, while the sleek lines of the masonry create a modern focal point. Overhead, a massive, architectural-scale fan circulates the air, ensuring this lounge remains the favorite room in the house during the peak of summer.

The Host's Headquarters
Entertaining requires effortless flow. We designed a comprehensive L-shaped outdoor kitchen, clad in the same crisp white brick to maintain visual harmony. The dark, honed countertops provide a striking contrast and ample prep space for the premium stainless steel grill. The outward-facing serving bar, accented with natural woven stools, ensures the chef is always part of the conversation, acting as a bridge between the kitchen and the open lawn.
Seamless Integration
To define the space without closing it off, we built a curved sitting wall using premium grey masonry block. This provides permanent, built-in seating for guests. To soften the transition between the engineered hardscape and the natural yard, we capped the ends of the wall with massive, rustic landscape boulders, bridging the gap between architecture and nature.
