in Design
A patio should be more than just a place to put furniture; it should be a destination. For the project Orbis, we moved away from traditional square layouts and embraced the geometry of the circle. The goal was to create a grounded, organic sanctuary that appeals to both the eye and the ear. By combining high-precision custom masonry, evident in the striking compass inlay with the raw, untamed beauty of massive natural boulders and a flowing waterfall, we crafted a space that feels deeply connected to the earth.

contrasting light and dark
cobblestones to create a

circular lounge, turning the
ground itself into a work of art.
The Art of the Inlay
The unmistakable centerpiece of this outdoor room is the custom four-pointed star inlay. Achieving this level of detail requires master masonry. We meticulously cut and laid contrasting light and dark cobblestones to create a compass-like motif. This intricate flooring design acts as an anchor or the circular lounge, turning the ground itself into a work of art.
Acoustic Architecture
We design for all the senses. Adjacent to the lounge, a multi-tiered waterfall cascades over large-format natural fieldstones. This feature isn’t just visual; it serves as ‘acoustic architecture,’ filling the garden with the calming sound of rushing water and masking neighborhood noise to ensure total relaxation.
Seamless Integration
To define the space without closing it off, we built a curved sitting wall using premium grey masonry block. This provides permanent, built-in seating for guests. To soften the transition between the engineered hardscape and the natural yard, we capped the ends of the wall with massive, rustic landscape boulders, bridging the gap between architecture and nature.
