Curated Comfort and Order
A successful outdoor living space requires more than just beautiful features; it requires intelligent spatial organization. For this conceptual project, our vision was to transform a blank backyard into a structured, elegant retreat that maximizes every square foot. By anchoring the design with a massive timber pergola and utilizing light-toned stone paving to brighten the environment, we created a seamless flow between culinary, wellness, and social zones. The result is a highly functional sanctuary that feels like a natural, architectural extension of the main residence.
Dedicated Relaxation
Wellness is a cornerstone of luxury outdoor living. We designed a dedicated hot tub sanctuary positioned gracefully to one side of the main patio. Elevated and clad in premium natural stone with integrated wrap
around steps, the spa becomes an architectural feature rather than an afterthought. An adjacent sunning area with ergonomic loungers
completes this private wellness retreat.
The Enveloping Lounge
Anchoring the social zone is a massive, U-shaped timber pergola that defines a cozy, sunken conversational hub. This structure envelops a linear gas fire pit and integrated stone seat walls, maximizing gathering space. The concept also includes a second, independent pergola resourcing a private sofa lounge, perfectly separating social energy from quiet retreat within the same engineered ecosystem.
360° Contemplation
The visual heart of the hardscape is the elevated circular lounge. Constructed on a raised stone podium with curated curved furniture, this ‘Panoramic Podium’ offers a 360-degree view encompassing the organic, free-form pool and the majestic mountains beyond. It serves as a central hub for relaxed observation, acting as a structural bridge between the wellness and fire zones
From Kitchen to Table
For high-end gastronomy, we designed a robust culinary station clad in stacked natural fieldstone with expansive granite countertops and professional service stations. This fully equipped outdoor kitchen connects directly to a formal open-air dining area for eight, ensuring seamless conceptual flow between meal preparation and social dining, just steps from the main residence.
The Structural Transition
To bridge the gap between the interior of the home and the open sky, we conceptualized a robust, large-scale timber pergola. Supported by heavy columns wrapped in natural stacked stone, this structure provides essential shade and architectural weight. Beneath it lies a formal outdoor dining space, offering a protected, elegant environment for meals perfectly positioned between the home and the outdoor kitchen.
The Social Focal Point
Stepping out from beneath the shaded dining area, the space opens up to the primary social hub: a custom circular fire pit. To define this space without closing it off, we engineered a sweeping, curved masonry seat wall. Flanked by striking red ornamental trees that provide a vivid pop of color against the light stone paving, this fire lounge is designed for intimate, late-night conversations under the stars.

Precision Pre-Construction
Conceptualizing a space with this level of symmetry requires rigorous pre-construction planning. SunSouth Carolinas utilizes these hyperrealistic 3D renders not just for visual approval, but as technical blueprints. From calculating the exact load-bearing requirements for the massive timber pergola to engineering the concealed plumbing for the integrated hot tub, our design process ensures the final build is structurally flawless.
Conceptual Engineering
While these visuals are hyperrealistic renders, they represent SunSouth Carolinas’ ability to engineer complex, multi-zone environments. Achieving the precise visual flow between the rigid timber pergolas, the elevated circular stone masonry, and the organic grading needed for the free-form water features requires meticulous pre-construction planning. We ensure that our detailed 3D concepts are structural blueprints for our field crews to execute with master craftsmanship.
