SunSouth was an amazing an fun company to work with. From the design session, project kickoff and post project follow up. Everyone was amazing. More importantly the customer service and issue resolution is top notch. We had an issue with an irrigation line that was moved that generated a leak. Within hours the team was onsite correcting the issue. We could not be more pleased with the service and build. I am really astonished because my normal experience is radio silence once a project completes and the check has cleared. My son and I both had a retaining walls done by Sun South. Because our yards were slopped, wet, and unusable, it was a big job flattening the yard, adding drainage, redirecting water from our gutters under ground, and re-sodding. This company was just terrific!! They kept us informed at every step. They were extremely customer focused. We absolutely love our yards now. Our SunSouth Experience We contacted SunSouth in mid fall of 2021 about our pool/patio project. Carlos came out to review our property and listen to our ideas of what we wanted. Within a week, we were sent 3 dimensional drawings of what he envisioned we wanted. He is a mind reader, what he submitted to us was just what we said we wanted. The next step was getting our project quoted. Our quote was in line with the market and our budget, so we agreed to the project. Once we got the HOA approval and county permits, which took more time then the projects physical construction, we could start our project. One of the main things we liked about our partnership with SunSouth was once they had all materials lined up for the project they gave us a start date and they stuck with our project till it was completed. They had the pool installed and all hard scape work along with our invoking project changes completed within 30 days. The crew that did our project was amazing and did exceptional work. They were easy to work with from start to finish. The support staff, project manager and crew members were professional, courteous and responsive to tweaks and changes we requested. We already had a professional master landscape design plan before we contacted them and they worked with that … even made some hard stone suggestions of their own. SunSouth is in the business of making Backyard Dreams a reality. My husband and I can’t say enough good things about our experience. Carlos started with design of the space while we were still under construction on our new build so we could start envisioning what our backyard would be. I have to say our expectations were far exceeded. Christina and Ginny were both so helpful with design selections (throughout the process) I have to admit I changed my mind on a few things before construction and they were incredibly patient. Matthew and his crews were extremely pleasant to work with, worked incredibly hard to get the job done, and cleaned up every day so we could still have our girls in the backyard at night. We asked SunSouth Carolinas to help us reimagine our old basketball half court into a more useful space. We knew we wanted to install a spa, but other than that we were open to ideas. Carlos put together a design in a day created an entertainment area, a structure for the spa and paths to connect that area with our fire pit and our house. No more trudging through grass. We also had a pergola with planting areas erected to match an existing pergola near our house. Not only will we be able to plant climbing vines and flowers, but it will look like it was always there. Carlos' team did a really nice job. They were tidy, they cleaned up after each work day and work was completed per the expectations set by the project. We really value this new space and the spa is a wonderful addition to our home. I would not hesitate to recommend Carlos and SunSouth Carolinas to anyone needing some hardscape work.read more

The bluestone patio that was installed really looked good when done. My wife and I were very pleased. However, a lot of the stones had a piece fall out and there was a crack that formed in the mortar along the length of the patio. We were repeatedly promised that the repair work to replace the stone and fix the crack would be done. I have respectfully e-mailed the company rep, many times (10+) to provide an update and a time frame when the repair work would be done. Now there have not been any reply to my most recent inquiries about getting a window for when the repair work could be scheduled. The company has essentially washed their hands of any repair work promises which is very disappointing. I would recommend that anyone looking to have work done by read this review and really think about whether or not to hire Sunsouth Carolinas for their "investment" in their properties. I would not recommend using this company; there are many other reputable companies doing similar stone work. I can’t believe also they have 123 reviews with 5 Stars in a very short time we were blind when we hired them. we ended up hiring another company to repair everything wrongread more

This company is top notch all the way! Every person we interacted with was professional, polite and honest. We had several companies comes out to bid for our large deck project. Our experience from start to finish was great! We met Carlos and Christina at the local home show. They had a fantastic display and were able to walk us through some options for a backyard patio. I don't usually spend the time to write a review but I LOVE this company. This was the largest project that I have ever paid someone else to do on our home. I was a nervous wreck as this was a really large project consisting of several retaining walls, patios, and improved drainage. Matt and Carlos were great at keeping me updated through every step and let me know what was going on. They even helped deal with some crazy permit and neighbor issues which reduced my stress level considerably. Every dollar we spent was well worth it. The retaining walls were so well constructed and it looks like the house was built this way. THANK YOU!!!read more

I recently had SunSouth Carolina's install a pathway from my driveway down to the patio off of my walk out basement in the Fort Mill, SC / Charlotte, NC area. They did an awesome job from start to finish! Carlos, the owner, was prompt to come out and take a look at the project. He was actually my 3rd estimate and I knew right away that he knew a lot more about what he was doing than the others. He immediately pointed out some drainage issues that could be very problematic in the future and gave me several options to address them. I received the quote shortly after his visit and I thought it was very fair for the work to be done. Once I had HOA approval, his crew was out within days and completed the project in 2-1/2 days. The communication back and forth with his office was great as well. Once complete, Carlos came back out to check on the work and make sure I was satisfied. He even gave me several suggestions on what I might do with the remainder of the landscaping around the path. It was really an all around great experience and I would absolutely recommend SunSouth Carolina's and will likely use them again myself.read more

It was a pleasure working with SunSouth Carolinas to get our yard done. Carlos, the owner, is very professional and knowledgeable. Christina and Ginny went above and beyond to ensure clear communication as changes needed to be made to the design and materials used on our backyard patio. They all returned my calls/texts/emails in a timely manner and made me feel like our project was a priority amidst all their other projects. Ginny even helped us find someone who could dig out a huge hole so that we could install our trampoline in the ground. What other company would care enough about their customer to help with that? Carlos stopped by our house several times before the installation to answer questions and help us problem solve as we changed our minds on certain details. He was so patient and so very easy to work with. The two crews who came to install the cobble stone worked efficiently throughout the four days. They all worked together like a well oiled machine. When everything was done, they cleaned up and all that was left was our beautiful patio that we could immediately enjoy. I could not wish for a better company to work with. I cannot say enough positive things about the team at SunSouth Carolinas. Christina and I had a great candid conversation about needs and budget. Carlos came out for the estimate and shared my vision for the project, giving me a reasonable estimate for the size of the job. Ginny came to my house with sample stones and helped me talk through the right ones to complement the brick on my house. After finding out my vacation plans and my upcoming birthday, they scheduled the project between the two! Their goal was to make sure everything was done properly and just the way I wanted for my birthday so I could share it with friends and family. Two crews came in to do the work, removed my rotting deck, graded the yard, and put in the patio in three days. Carlos was on site sporadically, but the crews work together so cohesively, he wass really only here for design pieces. Christina came at the end of the week to talk through some follow-up items and questions I had. The patio came out perfectly... even better than I imagined. To start off, I would like to first thank everyone at SunSouth Carolinas. We are so extremely satisfied with our patio words cannot express how happy we are! My husband and I got a few different quotes from different companies, and what truly helped us with our decision on going with SunSouth Carolina was Carlos, this is his company and he is incredibly personable, kind and honest. He took the time to sit down and talk everything over with us from how the process will start and how the process will end. We also spoke with Christina, mainly needing some additional information of the product and pricings etc. but let me just say she took so much time with us and did her due diligence to ensure we were satisfied and would not let us go forward until we were confident and really had everything we needed/wanted. We also had the pleasure of speaking to and seeing Ginny (where do I begin with how hard she works) she came to our house at least 4 times just to drop off different pavers that we were looking at to put up against the house and make sure that was the color we liked before making final decisions. We ended up going with Plaza Pavers - Earth Blend and Charcoal Border, with Onyx caps on the seating wall. Angel, Martin, Douglas and Cleo were the crew members on our project (along with Carlos) we are so grateful for how incredibly cautious they were with the existing grass. They laid down pallets to prevent damage from the machine they brought into the back yard. Carlos was very involved in the process, we were out of town the Monday they started but he sent us photos the entire day with updates of how the project was going. Angel, Martin, Douglas and Cleo were so meticulous with how each piece looked, if they did not like how something laid out or was cut they would fix it and make it perfect. I felt as though they treated (not only our home) but our project as their own and we could not ask for more. We are so satisfied and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a project like this. They are there for you through email, call and text any time during the day to answer any questions you have at all. We love SunSouth!read more
